Danielle and Jake’s rustic winter wedding at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills in Middletown CT was on a super chilly day. We didn’t let that stop us one bit because Danielle and her ladies came prepared with warm winter wraps so that we could do photos outside! As soon as the ladies showed up in the morning they hit the ground running. Dresses were put on, flowers were oooh’d and ahhh’d over, cheers were made! They were ready for their party and I can’t say that I blamed them one bit. It’s been a super long two years of COVID, and literally everyone attending was just ready to let the love loose!

The lights strung about The Barns at Wesleyan Hills makes for quite a spectacular backdrop for literally everything! From a detail of Danielle’s adorable shoes, to portraits to the ceremony and dancing! Hands down so so pretty!
I have to say I love the bridesmaids reveal! Who doesn’t get super excited to see their bestie all done up on her wedding day? Not to mention WOW I am in love with these Jenny You bridesmaids gowns so so much….! VELVET EVERYTHING PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!
It was maybe 20 degrees when we did their first look. Both of them were warmed by the anticipation so much I don’t think they noticed one bit!

We were grabbing Danielle’s warm up to head back outside quick when we walked through the cocktail barn area and I said hooooollllddd on a hot second here! Worked up some portraits with this delicious light and let them warm up a bit at the same time. The Barns at Wesleyan Hills, you sure look pretty in this light!
Yep. It was COLD!
These ladies were fantastic! I loved that one of my past brides, Kirsten, second from the left, was in the wedding party along with two of her bridesmaids! It was like a good old fashioned family reunion for me! Not to mention my other couple Sarah and Chris were inside! These wedding party walking shots were MANDATORY especially in the winter because they sure keep us all moving and warming up and also hello I love them and everyone’s expressions! I imagine if it was me and my friends and how much I would just adore these fun photos of us all.
Danielle was so emotional about having her Grandparents for her wedding. It was such a gift!
Jake literally JUST saw Danielle for their first look and portraits. If I have said it once I will say it again: literally NOTHING replaces this moment as your future partner walks down that aisle to you. Nothing.

Danielle and Jake did an extended cocktail hour so after they said hi to everyone, had a cocktail or two and some snacks, I grabbed them for round two of some photos outside!
