Eyes up, heart open
This weekend during another snow storm (!!) I ventured out with some colleagues and friends for some much-needed family portraits. One of the downsides to being a photographer is that most of the time we don’t end up in our own pictures! While yes, we most likely have pretty amazing images of our kids, or our spouses with our kids… we are the forgotten family member and are just not as visually present. Which is why we didn’t reschedule (as I am sure most of you were wondering why we didn’t.) Some things in life are worth making time Read More
There are so many things that I love about this engagement session with Ryan and Caity. So. MANY. You may think it’s the location. Gouveia Vineyard in Wallingford CT has quickly become one of my most favorite places to to not only photograph, because like- DUH-have you seen it? But it’s also a really wonderful place to go with my family and friends, pack up a bunch of appetizers, sandwiches, chocolate… and go enjoy the grounds, let the kids run around , enjoy the big fire pit and live music and watch the sun set over the hill. But Read More
Last week there was this one day. Super rainy. And of course it was the one day we picked for our engagement session in Essex! No matter! We went ahead with our shoot (for many reasons, but the main one being that I don’t cancel shoots for rain, what if it rains on your wedding? Don’t you want a photographer who is comfortable working in the rain?) I am so glad that Courtney + Pete were the epitome of easy going and didn’t let the rain worry them for one second! It certainly didn’t worry me, and I really Read More
After spending the afternoon with The Bachelorette aka Miss Desiree Hartsock + her fiancé Chris Siegfried and doing their engagement session at the Willows Lodge (you can see their rainy Seattle engagement session HERE) … we dried off and headed over to DeLille Cellars for the engagement party that Capstory hosted with a long list of some amazing wedding professionals from the area! It was so beautiful and the absolute perfect place to warm up by a roaring fire , next to some really beautiful flowers and sweets! Um…yup! Check out how beautiful this place was!!
When I was asked to fly to Seattle to photograph The Bachelorette’s (aka Desiree Hartsock!) engagement session with Chris Siegfried, I was beyond. Like, WAY. Even though I had not really watched the show, I knew from my many friends that did watch it that Desiree was one of the sweetest contestants ever. And that despite any drama on the show, Chris was really the best match for her in the end! I can attest to that as I got to spend some quality time with them both at the stunning Willows Lodge in Seattle! Despite the rain we Read More
Hold on to your hats everyone, and get ready for some chemistry and love and just an overload of handsome! And boats! Big boats, small boats, some champagne and a sunset! And maybe some bourbon…. maybe! When I got the first email from Mike about his upcoming wedding to Michael (yes, Michael + Mike!) I was over the moon. I mean, come on! They are photography lovers, and are dancing the night away at one of the most elegant venues, Castle Hill Inn in Newport Rhode Island! Add to that their love of design and all things beautiful and Read More
I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am to be shooting Christina and Ryan’s wedding tomorrow in Hartford, CT at the Gershon Fox Ballroom. These two are so much fun and their love is evident.
Before leaving Yale for good and making their big move out west to the rolling mountains of Colorado, Christina and Nick wanted to say goodbye to their home and most importantly Yale before heading out! So we meandered around the campus to places that meant something to them both- dorms, secret hallways, libraries, halls… it was so much fun to explore this beautiful old campus, riddled with history and stories, but most importantly their memories with each other. I love hearing how people met, when they knew that they were ‘the one’… I am a romantic at heart and Read More
Allie and Eric took me on a tour of their Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn and the nearby section of Carroll Gardens. We spent the day together talking, sharing, and learning about each other. The pinnacle of the day for me was when I learned that their grandmothers did a little matchmaking and introduced them to each other. We all had a chuckle as we coined the term “G-Harmony”, a testament to our similar sense of humors. Take a look at the pictures and check out how much genuine chemistry they have together! Read More
These two. What do I even say??? Ashley and Ray (or Ray Ray as I got to calling him) are like photography family to me and my studio. A few years back I photographed Ashley’s sister Jessica’s wedding and got to know their family and just fall in love with them then. They were so warm and open and loving with me, and made me feel like one of their own right from the start! They were giving with their hugs and love and support over the years, and this will never, ever leave me. Now I am pretty Read More
