Eyes up, heart open
I was so excited to meet up with Megan + Tim for their engagement session last fall. The day was perfect, the light was working for me and I was so inspired by the location! We poked around their property in the rolling hills of Woodbury, CT and it was just filled with so many little nooks for creating some magical images, I could barely contain myself! We got to ride around in a tractor to get to the fields and can I just say how much FUN that was?? That is so not something that I do in Read More
When I first met up with Gus and Lou they told me that they didn’t want a “typical” engagement shoot. Looking longingly in one another eyes or taking long walks on the beach wasn’t them, Lou told me. They were going to scrap the engagement shoot all together when I suggested that we do something that is them. It turns out that is cats and baking. So last Saturday we got together for a pecan pie engagement shoot.
Using Joanne Chang’s cookbook, these two set out to make dessert. Seriously, if you’re ever in Boston, go to Chang’s bakery/cafe Flour. It was smooth Read More
Who I get asked to be a photographer’s photographer, it’s a little like winning the prize but also a little scary! Like, they know my tricks and my super slickness factor kind of goes out the window a bit! I met Kate years ago and has been an industry friend since way back, but being her personal photographer has made us even closer, and I am so grateful for this! I get how she feels kind of uncomfortable in front of the camera since her home is on the other side, and really worked hard to make sure her Read More
I just can’t deal with how much fun these two are. Let me give you a little context. The subject line of Mike’s first email to me said “please shoot my future wife”. From the get, I knew either he had mistaken me for the hitman that I am not or they were totally my kind of people. As luck would have it, it was the latter.
Mike and Kathleen decided to go back to where she said yes. Of course, the yes followed much cussing (I told you they are my people) and disbelief. Kathleen thinking it must be a Read More
One of the weddings I am looking forward to photographing so much this year has got to be Christopher + Tyler’s. And not just because the countdown has been more dramatic and drawn out than say, Kim and Kanye’s! Because that has been super fun to watch on Facebook (since we are all friends and we ‘like’ each other’s gym pics!) But it’s also because I get to see Chris’ family again, all together celebrating. I met Chris in 2010 when I photographed his sister, my home girl for life, Liz Krankowitz. No. That is not her real name Read More
This week I got to spend the afternoon with a couple that I have gotten to know so well over the years. I met Liane a few years back for the first time while doing a cover shoot for Bliss Celebrations Magazine- you can see this shoot for this HERE and I knew she had something special… she was a natural in front of the camera, and as much as I would like to think it was me and my mojo, nuh-uh this girl just has it! But when we work together we make some sweet kind of magic Read More
While vacationing at The Caribbean Club on Grand Cayman (one of my most favorite places in the world..!!!), I was able to spend some time with an industry friend of mine who I met last year at two conferences – Grow Brand Camp in Maine and Engage! in Cayman – Linda Mitchell of Luxury Travel Pro. Linda specializes in luxury concierge services in both Cayman and Bermuda (not a bad gig!!) and was celebrating her wedding anniversary to her super adorable husband Ken of FORTY YEARS!!!
Not sure if that kinda big time match sunk in with you all…I said, and I Read More
Last end of summer / fall (my most favorite in between season in New England!) I got to spend a warm and beautiful afternoon with Kirsten + Thomas at one of my favorite places to create images for both weddings and portrait sessions Harkness Park in Waterford CT. It’s the best combination of gardens and beach and a mansion! What could be better than that? Especially when the gardens are just about exploding with blooms, and the sun is setting in the most magnificent spots and then Kirsten + Thomas were just both so… laughy and expressive and gave Read More
This weekend during another snow storm (!!) I ventured out with some colleagues and friends for some much-needed family portraits. One of the downsides to being a photographer is that most of the time we don’t end up in our own pictures! While yes, we most likely have pretty amazing images of our kids, or our spouses with our kids… we are the forgotten family member and are just not as visually present. Which is why we didn’t reschedule (as I am sure most of you were wondering why we didn’t.) Some things in life are worth making time Read More
There are so many things that I love about this engagement session with Ryan and Caity. So. MANY. You may think it’s the location. Gouveia Vineyard in Wallingford CT has quickly become one of my most favorite places to to not only photograph, because like- DUH-have you seen it? But it’s also a really wonderful place to go with my family and friends, pack up a bunch of appetizers, sandwiches, chocolate… and go enjoy the grounds, let the kids run around , enjoy the big fire pit and live music and watch the sun set over the hill. But Read More
