alicia and jack worcester, ma engagement session

Post Christmas, Pre New Year’s found me in the nitty gritty of Worcester Ma with my very adventurous clients Alicia and Jack. It was chilly, it was wet but they braved the weather and we had a great time. Alicia had some choice spots for us to rendezvous at and I had a blast incorporating the ’sneakers on the telephone wire’ into one of their shots. Now, if a plain old Jane like ME knows what they mean, how can they possibly still mean that? Do they mean something new and socially relevant like ‘free wi fi here’?

And so on the sketchy bridge over the train tracks we go to start our day!

Yes, that is indeed a deserted shopping cart I used as a prop for my ring shot!

See what I’m saying? Does it mean ‘Zagat rated must see area of Worcester?’

Nitty GRITTY lovin this back porch area. Yes, we trespassed!

How freaking beautiful is Miss Alicia????

and playful!

And has Converse!

They hunkered down and snuggled into each other for warmth in this crazy wind tunnel!

If you all only knew how much of a pain it was to get here! But look at us in the woods in Worcester. LOL

Sun = light = it does not in fact matter where we are! Even if it’s in a blah alley in Worcester!

We made a warm up pit stop in one of the cool diners of Worcester!

Then hit up the train station, it was CHILLY and everyone in the train was like…. huh. What are these people freezing for? ART people, ART!

The giant hand in the sky reaches down with a bottle of ice cold Narragansett Beer

What a truly romantic spot

And yes, there was an old tyme photo booth! My very favorite

loveity love love LOVE this shot!! Come ON!!!!!!

I had to have some fun with the booth

and the end result!!

Alicia and Jack, well, come ON I can’t wait for your wedding!!! It’s going to be spectacular!!

thanks for trusting me and braving the freezing New England weather for our shoot!

See you in the Spring!

winter hartford engagement session

Right before the holiday craziness I had one of my favorite 2010 couples come to me for a chilly but FUN engagement session in one of my very favorite places to shoot…. HARTFORD!! I love my Hartford!! Not too big, not too small, it’s juuuuust right!

So when my clients said they wanted to come here I was all  for it! I brought them to some of my tried and true favorite spots with some new ones thrown in for spice!

First of all, can we all agree on how adorable and photogenic my girl is!!!

They laughed so easily together… it made my job that much easier!

It’s almost like I have my internal GPS set to where the sun sets in specific parts of downtown Hartford, and I gotta say I love that!

For real?

I may have told them something along the lines of ‘you may feel silly, but you will certainly not look silly…’ Anything to make people laugh and feel comfortable!!

Like this here!! I love them both in this shot!

I know I know, one of my favorite walls in Hartford! Don’t hate because I sweat this place, it’s cool!

I feel like i am repeating myself again with how much I love how comfortable and happy and photogenic they are!! But come ON!!

See what I’m saying?

So while we were in downtown Hartford we happened a forest….well not really! But it certainly looks like it, right??

More graphic backgrounds!

I’m not saying anyone got hurt here…… but maybe someone was a little sore? I’m just saying.

And we HAD to hit up Constitution Plaza!!

With no assistant for this shoot it was certainly challenging but I had fun with it!!

I love this next series here

I feel like he looks like he’s from 1950 and I am a fan!

Thank you guys SOOOOOO much for making the trek to me, I had SO much fun with you both and I cannot WAIT for your wedding!!

Have a Happy and Safe New Year!!

christine and mark new york city engagement session

A few weeks back I headed into New York for an engagement session with my New Year’s Eve couple, Christine and Mark. To say these guys have chemistry is the understatement of the year!! They were so incredible together and no matter how many times they told me they never really had their picture taken together, the less I believed them, because they were like supermodels for me!!

Check out Mark. Come on. YIKES!

Now you know I never let the rain get me down, and so we met up at the Bethesda Fountain- it’s the perfect place to hang out if it rains and wait for it to dry up a bit and then venture out when it stops!

One of my favorite ways to shoot- through water! Love it love it love it!

Miss Christine gets mad props for braving the cold- which she is not a fan of, to say the least…. but look at her working it!

Another favorite, the band shell! My favorite though? My clients!!

What a great smile

The Mall in Central Park is another favorite place of mine to shoot- it’s so beautiful and timeless and I always feel like I have been transported to someplace special

Love their spontaneity!

One of their favorite restaurants in the city, Pastis

And this? Well, I just stumbled upon this and I am so happy that I did!!! One of the little challenges that I gave myself for this shoot was to not bring my flash with me, fully knowing I was going to be shooting at night. See, light is everywhere and since i have been so up my pocket wizard’s, well, you know- I decided to make sure I still knew how to see light the old fashioned way.

With my eyes.

Another found light source!

And Grand Central, always a favorite and at RUSH HOUR!!!

You have no idea how many people were probably cursing me here, I was standing still in the massive sea of people, shooting! Whatever, I had to get my shot! No flash, just ambient Grand Central Light.

Christine and Mark, thank you thank you thank you for being so incredibly easy to work with-

I am SO excited for your wedding!!

XO
