Eyes up, heart open
While 2011 wasn’t my most prolific year, it was my most rewarding yet. When I was forced to book fewer weddings because of increasing demands from my other career, my growing family and a new home (yet very OLD – think Tom Hanks and The Money Pit), I was down-and-out and felt like I had been benched. Like I would be left in the dust by this fast paced and constantly changing industry. How would I stay motivated? How could I stay fresh?
What I failed to realize though, is that for the first time I would be able Read More
You know what feeling I love?
That feeling when your heart skips a beat and your breath gets caught in your chest and your eyes get a little watery. That’s the feeling that I love. And honestly, that feeling happened to me more times than I can count in 2011. From belly laughs to nervous giggles, from a single tear to tears streaming, from a tiny hug to full on bear hugs, and from perfect sunny days to catastrophic unseasonal snow storms, 2011 was literally the best wedding season yet. I am so thankful to my wonderful couples for putting Read More
new years eve. 2011. there i was…in the middle of the bushnell stage with carla as balloons fell from above and my camera dangled from my neck. my typical reaction ensued: goosebumps. really. how the h-e-double hockey sticks did i end up here? how did i get so lucky? holy smokes.
when the wedding ended we tailgated in the parking lot with caffeine free diet cokes. as i drove home that night with sore tootsies, i thought about the year that had just gone by. again… goosebumps.
2011 was pretty much my favorite year ever. so far at least. Read More

Today marks a milestone for me as a business owner and person and I just wanted to share. Ever since I had anyone working with me, even when it was just me and Dodie at weddings way back in the day- all I wanted to do was be able to help out those who were helping me.
Let me flash back here for a sec. Growing up I always thought I had less than most, and the reality is I did. As an adult I can honestly say that I was not really looking at the world that I lived Read More
So there we were… shooting this magazine cover… ug how pretentious does that sound?? OK but we totally were!! And it was so much fun! It was a beautiful fall day, I was working with my most favorite crew- we had such an amazing theme! There was a boat I was totally coveting that we ended up getting permission to board and shoot on, and I am so happy with the images from the shoot!
It was a rush too, knowing I was shooting for the cover of The Connecticut Bride Magazine- and a big guessing game as we waited Read More
Our super fun in WHITE launch party on Wednesday, January 11th was a rousing success! To quote my husband Dave, it was a ‘rager!!’ We can’t thank our amazing group of friends, business associates, colleagues who braved the style taboo of wearing white before labor day!!! Or after Memorial Day? Whatever! We appreciate the support of all of our friends in the launch of this exciting new adventure! Here are some of my favorite photo booth pictures from the suaree that my husband Dave took!

Kelsey rewrites her vows so they are neat and perfect!
