When I first met Lauryn and CJ, they showed up at my workshop to be my models for the day for a posing workshop I was teaching. I knew right from the start that they had something special together… the way they looked at each other, how kind and gentle they were with one another…it was so beautiful to watch! To add to this…? They were absolute magic in front of my camera! So comfortable, so relaxed… they just knew what to do! I offered little to no guidance- well, except for the fact that I was teaching an actual posing workshop and I had to actually tell them so I could teach… they were naturals! When they told me they were engaged I just knew I had to be the one to photograph their wedding, whatever they ended up doing! And it all worked out in the end… Lauryn and CJ exchanged their vows on an absolutely perfect Thursday evening in Hartford’s Elizabeth Park! I grew up going to this park, it holds such a special place in my heart…it’s where my Mom used to go when she needed time to herself to relax (she was the mother of 9 children after all!) And so when she died, we got her a memorial bench here, so now I have a place to go and have a peaceful moment to myself and feel close to my Mom. Elizabeth Park is probably most known for their abundance of roses and their stunning rose garden. Which is amazing, I love photographing this so much! But… I also love showing another side of Elizabeth Park that not everyone takes the time to see and appreciate. It has a little woodland underbelly…and I absolutely LOVE that Lauryn was all about that part for her wedding and portraits! The best part is when the sun sets it sets right where my Mom’s bench is, and this little secret woodland underbelly is… and it is pure magic…
Thank you Lauryn and CJ for inviting me into your lives, I was honored to be a part of your wedding! Big hug to Erica Martell for introducing us!
