This summer I had the honor of being asked to document a field to vase dinner tour at my good friend David Beahm’s personal home, Thistle Dew Farm in PA. I had visited there a few weekends before and if I could describe heaven visually, this would be on my map of heaven. Right in front of David’s home is a huge hedge of zinnias… if you want to picture what my soul looks like, it would be that! So to go back and see Thistle Dew transformed for a big event like this was so much fun! We had a gorgeous day, a light wind, and so many old friends from my time at Engage Luxury Business Summits to hug and chat with! And flowers for days… what more could a girl ask for?
Oh- I know! HEIRLOOM FIRE! What a fantastic and rustic catering experience and the most amazing team of people! I loved watching them craft our meal all day, from the elaborate set ups (where they don’t use any electricity to prep the food. Nothing but fire! Not only was it so amazing to photograph but it was incredibly delicious as well! We were able to close the night by sitting around the dying fire sharing stories and laughs and it was one of the highlights of the weekend for me.
Here’s a little more information about the American Grown Field to Vase Dinner Tour 2016! This is direct from their site: “The dinner tour is a series of private, intimate, must-attend gatherings that place seasonal, local and sustainable American Grown flowers at the center of the table where locally grown food, beer, and wine is served by a farm-to-table chef. Each artisan-style dinner will be held at a unique venue — an American flower farm that encourages guests to experience the age-old art and science of flower farming.”
Thank you, David, for asking me to partner with you for this incredible event!
