Eyes up, heart open
You may or may not have noticed that I have been the absolute BIGGEST blogging slacker lately.. but to that I say it was not really my fault since my blog has been not functioning much. You can’t leave comments, the fonts are all wrong… I could go on and on, but I won’t! It’s just not been working how I want and need it to, and am moving on to more productive website pastures! So.. expect some changes in how we look!!
So yes, we are still here and have TONS!!!! and TONS of weddings and personal news Read More
Yes. I am going to just be open and admit it. All this talk of having a balance with your personal and professional life. Even me. Yes, I preach it! I try my hardest to live a balanced life. But, in all honesty I am a completely obsessed and off balance lady. I think about photography all the time. ALL. the. TIME. I can’t help it!! And I am not going to apologize for it, not that anyone is asking me to! It is so much of who I am, and there isn’t a place for me to separate from Read More
One of my goals this 2011 is to have some photographic personal projects to work on. I have always been a big fan of them and on any given year have a few in the works ranging from the simple- photographing anything with a 10 in it- to more deeper personal levels- portraits of women who have lost their moms.
Now, you don’t need to get all deep on yourself to do something- which in my opinion, is what tends to hold people back in coming up with something in the first place! I say get over yourself and just Read More
In the world of blogging, having a regular feature to bring people back is a relatively smart thing to do, right? Well, I have been blogging for a long time and have been struggling with exactly what I wanted to put out there regularly. After taking inventory of what is really and truly true to me and who I am, I found- thanks to some helpful people pointing this out as well- that I like to keep it REAL.
I know this is not something special to the photography industry, that people want to really and truly know what is Read More
… yet!! Yeah I know. This will be one of those blog posts that when I DO die (and I will, It’s a proven fact) people may go back and read and be all like ‘how creepy!’ But whatever, that is neither here nor there, and those people will be missing the point anyway.
Here is my point. I am finally at it, five years later.
Today marks the five year anniversary of the day we had to take my Mom off life support. At 1:30 p.m. in the hospital for special care, surrounded by my amazing family. As my Read More
Ahhh….. yes. 2010 comes to a close and the slew of blog posts / facebook status updates / twitter hoo has come bounding out! TIME TO WRITE YOUR GOALS FOR 2011!!!
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t dread and love this time of year. Why? Well, writing them holds me accountable to what I say I am going to do for myself, my family and my business. And at this point I just want to snuggle back into bed in my new fleece sheets and forget everything.
Which leads me to this! I was perusing Facebook this morning Read More
Please join me this Friday December 3, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at 300 Oxford Street Hartford CT to help raise money for a dear friend of ours’ son- seven year old Paxton Holmes. Paxton was born with a rare disease- Maple Sugar Urine Disease (MSUD) . Because of the toll this is taking on his body, Paxton is on a transplant list to receive a new liver and is on standby right now for one. When a liver becomes available Paxton and his family would need to get to PA within 4 hours time Read More

A year ago I took one of the coolest trips ever: I traveled to Mexico with my dad for Day of the Dead. While it was amazing I also missed Halloween- a very sacred holiday in my household- with my kids. So this cool trip came at a cost! I’m serious! We love Halloween THAT much.
For those of you that don’t know what Day of the Dead is, or for you spanish speakin’ peeps- it’s called dia de los muertos- it’s a holiday on November 2nd in Mexico where you honor those people you know and love that have Read More

…and other things I think you should all know about when planning your big day! Get ready… and get your quills out to take some notes! Yes, I said quills! See how appropriate that is to write with? No?
Then you can appreciate how annoyed I am, as a 2010-era-age photographer to read in what I thought of as a reputable wedding planning magazine- Read More
