Eyes up, heart open
My most important job as your photographer is to tell the story of your wedding day while making you and your family and friends comfortable.
I believe the more comfortable you are, the better your pictures will be. My typical client is a lover of photography, art and design. They are someone who has to have beautiful photographs. Someone who lets me do what I do best, and trusts my many years of experience in the industry. Whether you are the most camera-shy person or the biggest ham, there is no cookie-cutter approach to every client. I will get you comfortable in a way that is best for you.
Here you can view my most recent weddings, events and other fun sessions. Grab a cup of coffee and get comfortable, I have been happily blogging since 2006, so there is all of the content to do a deep dive and see if I am the right fit for you and your event.
I pride myself on being a welcoming and inclusive photographer and human being and embrace everyone. I am so happy you are here to view my work, stay as long as you’d like and please feel free to leave a comment or share any posts! XO Carla Ten Eyck
Here is a quick peek from yesterday’s CRAZY FUN wedding of Mia + Brian at The Riverview in Simsbury, CT. There were tears, and so many funny antics by the kids AND the adults, I couldn’t stop laughing and saying out loud ‘is this really happening’? It was such a pleasure being welcomed back into the Siracusa Family Fold – I photographed Melissa + Mike’s wedding ages ago- but it felt like yesterday since I saw them all! Their ability to just be who they are, loud and proud just attracts me to them all, and I laugh right Read More
Jessie and Zack’s wedding at Tyrone Farm in Pomfret CT was the stuff that my dreams are made of! Romantic, beautiful, with every little touch point thought of… I was in pure heaven from the moment that I showed up on property until I left! Jessie did her research, and was relentless in her quest to assemble a group of creatives who spoke to her vision for her wedding to Zack. I would have to say, she done GOOD! The second those flowers – crafted by the uber talented ladies of Stems Floral Design- showed up… I just about Read More
Real talk time! I’ve been struggling with social media these past few years and it’s affect on our perception of what’s actually real in people’s lives. Love it or hate it, the reality is that with my job, I have to partake in it, and for the most part, I actually really enjoy how I choose to. I am honest, I show the good and the bad, I post ridiculous selfies that most people would probably delete, because HELLO THIS IS WHAT I ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE! And, with no sarcasm here, I really do love myself.
I am not Read More
Annie and Chris’ wedding at The Bee and Thistle Inn, in Old Lyme CT was one of the most emotional weddings I have ever photographed. Maybe it was the connection I made with Annie before, or maybe it was watching the love and adoration that Annie and Chris had for one another during their engagement session in New Haven that made me even more excited for their wedding? I’m not entirely sure, but what I do know is how openly Annie and Chris showed their love and adoration for one another, every smile, every tear, all of it. Read More
Yesterday’s wedding at the Harold Pratt House in New York was SO MUCH FUN!! I adore Zack and Polly (they were my rainy day Hartford engagement session that I posted on my insta story about!) and just knew after their engagement session with me in the rain and cold, that we would be fine on their wedding day, no matter what! I couldn’t have been more right! There was 100% trust in me from the start of the day until I left, and I felt free to create some magic with them with zero worry or pressure. Here is Read More
Creative collaborations with industry friends is one of my favorite favorite things to do. I can’t stress that enough! We are given a blank slate, essentially, and then a design direction, and then the green light flashes and we all retreat into our collective creative corners and return to the ring with our vision and just let it all fly! At the same time, we are open to trusting our partners and tweaking things even more once we arrive and the light changes or something doesn’t work or even better something works way better than we thought and then Read More
Liz and Maya’s wedding at Red Maple Vineyard was perfection on every level: from the giddy + happy wedding party (not to mention FUNNY!) to the perfect weather, to the many many gorgeous places for portraits (wow wow wow!) and all wrapped up in their families and friends love and support. It was a day to be remembered! And guys: THERE WAS A SWING UNDER A HUGE GORGEOUS TREE! Yes, I totally had to yell that! Because… look! (you gotta scroll down) The vistas, the laughing, the sneaky spots to work in, the light, and Liz and Maya just Read More
When Kat and I FaceTimed for our first meeting, I felt like we could stay and chat all day, despite her business as a Landscape Designer at her company, Staghorn NYC, in full bustle all around her. She was so passionate about what they were planning for their day, and passionate about securing a photographer who she connected with, and we hit it off, instantly! I showed up to their venue in the rolling hills of Ballston Spa, NY and was just filled with excitement for the day. What a gorgeous property! Kat + Michael had their wedding party Read More
Oh, yesterday. I am still processing my feelings from Rachel and Gabby’s wedding but am so excited to share a few of the images from their super emotional, super amazing day. Gabby and Rachel are the most eloquent writers, their vows just about blew the roof off the church, there was not a dry eye in sight. I was literally stopped in my tracks to the point where I set my camera down so I could absorb the words better. I felt completely transformed. I plan on writing so much more when I post their full post here so Read More
Last week I had a winter engagement session on the beach in Stratford CT, which sounds super fun, and looks even better than it sounds, am I right?? What you can’t tell here is that Coco + Joe, affectionately known as CocoJoe and I were freezing our faces off pretty much the entire time! All I can see when I look through their images is warmth and love. I can still hear Coco’s laugh, inevitable no matter how serious she starts off, erupting like a volcano on a tropical island, so warm and full of life. Joe is like Read More
