Eyes up, heart open
My most important job as your photographer is to tell the story of your wedding day while making you and your family and friends comfortable.
I believe the more comfortable you are, the better your pictures will be. My typical client is a lover of photography, art and design. They are someone who has to have beautiful photographs. Someone who lets me do what I do best, and trusts my many years of experience in the industry. Whether you are the most camera-shy person or the biggest ham, there is no cookie-cutter approach to every client. I will get you comfortable in a way that is best for you.
Here you can view my most recent weddings, events and other fun sessions. Grab a cup of coffee and get comfortable, I have been happily blogging since 2006, so there is all of the content to do a deep dive and see if I am the right fit for you and your event.
I pride myself on being a welcoming and inclusive photographer and human being and embrace everyone. I am so happy you are here to view my work, stay as long as you’d like and please feel free to leave a comment or share any posts! XO Carla Ten Eyck
This past Saturday Mike, Katie and I shot our gregarious bride of many faces… Miss Jaime and her now husband Mr. Chris Thurber! If there is a poster for a New England church it has GOT to be the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme… how pretty was this church?!! We capped off the day with a hoppin’ reception at the fabulous and newly renovated Saybrook Point Inn in Old Saybrook CT.
Here are our photographic adventures from the day, complete with commentary from yours truly…. of course!
So, I shoot the rings, Read More
I’m a mind reader and I know you want more of Mr. and Mrs. Scobey! I know I do!! These two… well. Not sure what I could write would even remotely do their session justice. They are cute x 1,000,000 anyway and then add to the mix Ashley’s cute little belly, and then how in love these two still are with each other! I know, they look like they are like 12, but they have been in love since they were like…12 actually! So the reality is they have been in love longer than me and Dave, Read More
As many of my current and past clients know, I hope that I can get you comfortable enough to open up with me and be yourself. When you are yourself around Mike and I… and our cameras? Well…. it just works. We get you, as you truly are. Comfortable, happy.
On the flip side, I understand the importance of showing who I really am. How can I expect you to bare all and then not know anything about me? And so… I blog about, well, everything in my life. Photography, my family, the struggles of being a Read More

This little scamp of a cat has lived at my house since 1992. I think he may even be older than Graham!! I remember coming home on a visit from RIT during the fall of 1992 and my brother had found him. He was such a mellow cat, cuddly and just all around nice. He used to come into our house but we had this crazy lab Cassie who HATED cats- and she was BIG and Read More
Maternity sessions are in full swing here at the studio! And while I feel like I am earning the rep for being an ‘urban maternity’ shooting kind of gal, we decided to change it up a bit and shoot only at the studio for Christy’s session. Well, that and the fact that it was way too chilly out to go parading around all exposed and stuff.
Maternity sessions for me are starting to really become my ‘thing’ – in addition to weddings. My husband and I were talking about this today- about how to really make your Read More
A couple weeks ago Mike and I second shot for the super cali-fabulous Miss Shyla ! I met Shyla a few years back at Pictage’s Partner con in LA and just knew we would be friends. She has this infectious smile and energy and is easily one of the best photographers out there. At WPPI this year we discovered that she needed a second shooter for this incredible wedding in Boston in March and I absolutely jumped at the chance to learn from one of the best. Her clients, Sage and Young, are two of the most easy to Read More
A few weeks back I had the pleasure of photographing my friend and colleague, Richard Esposito– or RE to us photographers. I have known RE for a few years now, and can always count on him for help or to bounce ideas around about work stuff. This is great, but I am also really enjoying getting to know him more as a person, and as a newly married man. His wife Kelley is one of the most gregarious and thoughtful people, and she is adept at bringing out the more sensitive side of my friend….which I am truly getting a Read More
