Eyes up, heart open
My most important job as your photographer is to tell the story of your wedding day while making you and your family and friends comfortable.
I believe the more comfortable you are, the better your pictures will be.
My typical client loves their family + friends over anything. Always, always. They value time spent together, and are able to appreciate the quieter moments in their relationships, that strung together, share a story of deep love.
They appreciate beautiful photography, art and design. Someone who lets me do what I do best, and trusts my many years of experience in the industry. Whether you are the most camera-shy person or the biggest ham, there is no cookie-cutter approach to every client.
I will get you comfortable in a way that is best for you.
Here you can view my most recent weddings, events and other fun sessions. Grab a cup of coffee and get comfortable, I have been happily blogging since 2006, so there is all of the content to do a deep dive and see if I am the right fit for you and your event.
I pride myself on being a welcoming + inclusive photographer + human being and embrace everyone. I am so happy you are here to view my work, stay as long as you’d like and please feel free to leave a comment or share any posts! XO Carla Ten Eyck
Another fun day in the books here with my dream team of creative partners for a double-whammy for Bliss Celebrations Magazine (what a gorgeous publication, if you haven’t laid eyes or hands on it yet, you should give it a gander! FILLED with beautiful real weddings and events and styled shoots for inspiration) We also did this particular styled-shoot with our handsome man models and real life couple David + Anthony for the second book in our White Dress Series called The White Dress: Destinations due out soon that I co-authored with Beth Chapman from The White Dress by Read More
One of my favorite weddings of all time has got to be the wedding of Diane and Susan. Their love story started 30 years ago on the day they decided to make it official, and forever linked their hearts and souls to one another, officially, anyway, since they had long since given in to loving one another wholeheartedly years ago. It was beautiful weather, and they were surrounded by the most loving and excited group of friends and family. I took special note of this, because I have photographed some weddings where the family doesn’t approve of same sex marriages Read More
Part two of my fun day in the sun with the talented team of Whim Events, Beth Chapman, DD Nickel, Catie Bane, and the Hive Events and Hartford Prints teams plus our Jimmmaaaaay of Vintage Cinema was a non-wedding themed day of lawn games, specialty cocktails, a dinner in the grass as the sun set and all of the laughs! I loved watching the fashion transformations that my bestie Beth Chapman of Beth Chapman Styling worked up as we all gathered around the fire for some s’mores and snuggling! That dress!! with the floral detailing was so super Read More
Way back when I got a chance to play with some fellow creative partners for a styled shoot with a twist- we did a 50’s theme that was inspired by the absolute coolest bars I have ever seen- the Hive Events Airstream trailer! If you have not seen this beauty, I cannot insist enough how much you need to see it! It’s a top shelf bar set inside the most dope Airstream trailer- all fixed up inside like I have never seen before! What a perfect addition to a wedding, especially if there is an outside element. So we Read More
This last, blustery push that Winter is having (even though it is technically Spring now!) has me longing for the summer, with it’s long days filled with warm sun and weddings at Belle Mer with Jubilee Events! This last wedding we al collaborated on was one for the books! Libby had the most amazing team assembled for Kate and Richard’s wedding on the water as the sun set, complete with a fly over by an airplane with a sign that said ‘Congratulations on your wedding Kate + Richard!’ that literally flew over at the exact right time, just as Read More
One of my favorite creative outlets I get as a photographer is doing styled shoots with my creative partners. One of my favorites is Bliss Celebrations Magazine. I have known Amy Blau, the publisher since she started the magazine, and had the absolute honor of having my work on three of their six covers. They are so loyal to me and supportive and this translates to them giving me freedom to show up at a styled shoot for their magazine with nothing but a smile on! Well, trust me, I am still rocking my nerdy fanny pack camera bag, Read More
Last Summer found me in the Hamptons surrounded by a team of creative professionals that I am also lucky enough to call my great friends, sisters even! This team was assembled for the second year in a row to photograph the Donna Morgan campaign, led by the amazing Kathleen McFeeters, who has come to be a dear friend of mine thanks to the Engage Luxury Business Summits! I met Kathleen in Grand Cayman as she sat for me while I was ‘portraiting’ with some of the attendees at the conference and she patiently waited for me and then we Read More
On any given day I am always up for an impromptu photo session with my daughter. She is inspired, inspiring and willing to do whatever we need or want for the shot! This was how she always was for me, and I have been photographing her for her whole life! There was one time we did a shoot in a field and it was COLD and all she was wearing was a dress made of flowers and leaves and she was barefoot but she had a wand and that was all she needed to keep her warm! She did Read More
Carly + James are two of the most easy going and fun clients turned friends I have had in my years of working as a photographer! Easy with a laugh for me and my super corny jokes (I’m here till Thursday, try the veal!) Add to this the fact that Mr. James just loves to have his picture taken and flip me over, I am DONE! We had all of that and the best creative partners for the day- my bestie Beth Chapman provided the amazing lace gown that Miss Carly absolutely rocked! Then! Oh! The floral goodness that Read More
Mary + Mike booked with me via the talented lady crew that is Sixpence for your Shoe without even a phone call- which is quite a thrill! Then when I learned what these two smarty-pants do I was super intrigued. They have such unique jobs and they found each other! Mike studies endangered small mammals in the Florida Keys and Mary studies invasive tilapia species in North Carolina. I mean. Seriously! So the animal theme at their wedding was super appropriate for them both, and gives you all a bit of back story on it! I loved seeing how passionate Read More
