Eyes up, heart open
Andrew and Emma’s intimate wedding in the Boston Public Garden was sweet, emotional and set the tone for a really beautiful day. According to Emma, Andrew is a relaxed southern gentleman which balances her fast talking high strung Bostonian-ness and after meeting them both I couldn’t agree more! They are such a balance for one another and so deeply in love. When I walked in to Emma’s getting ready suite, I was immediately welcomed into the family fold and joined into the lively conversation about the season finale of Game of Thrones, while photographing Emma having her Read More
Alyssa and Garth’s backyard Connecticut wedding was such a joy to photograph. From the second I showed up to the wedding I was treated like family by both Alyssa and Garth and I immediately felt at home, and so welcomed. Alyssa had been following my work for years. In fact, her aunt was Georgie’s second grade teacher. Georgie is now going into her sophomore year of high school so you do the math! When Alyssa and I spoke she was certain I was her photographer from the first moment, and it filled my heart. With such a saturated photography Read More
When London based Luxury Wedding and Event Producer Sarah Haywood contacts you for an event, it’s a thing. When it’s a multi day affair in Scotland at a historic castle, peppered with custom tartans, fireworks, Scottish drummers, Highland Games on the lawn, and a staff ratio of 250 for 65 guests…? It’s an epic event! Epic events are Sarah Haywood’s specialty. I have had the honor of working with her on a few events and let me tell you this: WOW. I love being a part of the buzzing beehive of production that surrounds each event at the highest Read More
Katrina and Luke had the most perfect wedding day at the Publick House Historic Inn in Sturbridge MA. The rain held off just enough for us to get our first look in and sneak some portraits on the property before tucking away inside the venue and finding little nooks and places to create some beautiful portraits together.
But let me back up a little here. If Instagram brings me anything, any joy or value or happiness, it is this. Instagram is how Katrina found me, many years ago. She followed along on my adventures and weddings and fun Read More
Kristen and Tim were married this past week at the First Congregational church of Danbury and then partied the night away at Le Chateau in South Salem Ny. It was one of the very first gorgeous Spring days we have had, and it was glorious! Kristen got ready at her parents home with her sweet dog Charlie, surrounded by her very fun bridesmaids and her parents. Once she slipped that wedding gown on designed by Antonio Gaul it was like it was made for her and her alone! Simple, classic and so elegant, Kristen pretty much floated around Read More
Asking for something can be really hard. Except for the salt, I can ask for that no problem! This past December marked the 16th Engage Luxury Wedding and Business Summit conference I had attended at the Solaz Luxury Resort in Los Cabos, Mexico. I was on the photography team, and had a ball working the event, as always. I enjoy switching up my role from attendee, to photography team member to photo team leader and also as a four time speaker.
Each experience is different and affords me different opportunities. Enter: The Hard Part. The follow up. Read More
The Knot Pro Workshop was hosted at The State Room in Boston, MA this past June. I was asked to share about how to ‘Be True to You and Still Get Hired’ on social media. Being authentic in social media has been a hot topic for a while in the wedding and event industry. There can be such a disconnect there for those of us who cater to a level of clientele that may or may not live the kind of lives we live; so then how can we be ourselves and still get hired?
My whole theory Read More
The Engage Summit was last week (now last year!) It was the Engage Luxury Wedding and Business Summit’s last event of 2018 at Solaz Los Cabos in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. I have been to Mexico many times before, it’s my father’s native country and also, hello it’s MEXICO and it’s warm and beautiful and colorful and my soul loves it! Cabo was amazing and even though, regrettably I didn’t get to explore the area much at all (save for our pre Engage dinner with some of my most favorite people EVER) I have to say I would come Read More
Diana and Phil’s autumn wedding day at Cold Spring Farm in Colchester CT was blustery, blue-skied and crisp! Since I knew that wind was a factor I showed up a bit earlier than expected to get the lay of the land and scope some potential portrait spots out to help the day run as smooth as possible. Diana and Phil have two children under 3 and a brand spanking new puppy named Draco, so, any little bit of time saving I could manage I knew would be super helpful! I poked around the farm and found some really Read More
Michaela and Artur’s windy November wedding at Aria in Prospect CT was filled with so many gregarious, tall and well dressed frail and friends, it felt like I was at a fashion show instead of a wedding! Even Michaela played the part by having a dress change midway through her reception. Her bridesmaids gowns were some of my favorite this year, they were long, fitted navy dresses with long lace sleeves and a cool back, and each lady looked so elegant and willowy in the dress, even my sweet little shorty bridesmaid! The crazy wind didn’t seem to impact Read More
