news flash: i’m not dead…

… yet!! Yeah I know. This will be one of those blog posts that when I DO die (and I will, It’s a proven fact) people may go back and read and be all like ‘how creepy!’ But whatever, that is neither here nor there, and those people will be missing the point anyway.
Here is my point. I am finally at it, five years later.
Today marks the five year anniversary of the day we had to take my Mom off life support. At 1:30 p.m. in the hospital for special care, surrounded by my amazing family. As my Read More

costa rica editorial beach wedding

What feels like years ago, but was in reality, only a few months back in the fine spring of this year, I had an opportunity to take a trip. Me, the one who said pretty loud and pretty proud that I did not really want to be what every photographer thinks they want to be at some point in their career: a destination wedding photographer.
Now, keep your skirt on- I’m not taking it all back- but- turns out I had some amazing traveling opportunities come round my way that left my head spinning and my camera shutter going at Read More

tere was her jack

So today is my oldest sister Tere’s birthday. Happy Birthday, sis! It’s a little after midnight and I was poking around facebook and then was getting all sentimental about stuff- as late night Facebok poking around can do at times… and decided that I wanted to give my oldest sister Tere a little shout out.
See, Tere is not your normal older sister. She is covered in tattoos, has many piercings, crazy bangs, an even crazier and super witty husband Charlie and I guess by the crazy gauge of one Mike Romano, she is way, way crazy, for she Read More

collaborate and create 2010 video

My great friend and co-conspirator Candice of Jubilee Events and I hosted our Collaborate and Create 2010 workshop at Watch HIll’s opulent The Ocean House in late May … and it was was such an incredibly fun and amazing time!! This place is a MUST SEE! They were so on the ball that during their big opening weekend they already had a wedding there!! Can we say on top of their game much??

I am still recovering…! I have a mega blog post on this in the works, but even before I was able to unpack (which I hate Read More

costa rica video by buzz media

Come closer. No really. Lean in cloooooose. I’m going to share something with you all that to me? Is one of my career high points. The end of a two day destination shoot in the rainforest of Costa Rica…on a shoot for the amazing…
and I have it here.
Mike and Erica from the amazing Buzz Media were apart of the collaboration that seems to be my existance these days. And to be honest, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Here is their take on what we did, how we ended. How we rushed up to the top Read More

costa rica editorial shoot day two

On our second day in Herradura our hosts from coordinated a sunset cocktail hour at one of the most beautiful places to see a sunset in Costa Rica- Villa Caletas- and it was just right down the road! At one point I saw a pair of Scarlet Macaws fly by which I have to say was way better than the bizarre interpretive yoga dancing we got treated to during the sunset. It was a little distracting and I have to add very very hard to keep a straight face during, because I am one silly gal! Here Mark was Read More

costa rica day one scouting

After returning from my family vacation in Mexico I unpacked and repacked to head out to a dream destination of mine- Herradura Costa Rica. Now I have been to Costa Rica before for a vacation and I loved it, all of it- from the scary crazy zip lines to the laid back and friendly nature of pretty much everybody in the country. It was beyond amazing. So to go back for a photo shoot was something that I didn’t even know was a dream for me until I was smack in the middle of it!
So like our New Orleans Read More

be careful what you wish for…

I like to travel, I am not gonna lie. But I will be honest with you, I do not want to be a destination wedding photographer, and I am not ashamed to admit it! I love my third smallest state in the union here- CONNECTICUT!!!! like no other. With its crappy weather (right now anyway) and super small town appeal, I am in heaven every time I come home.
These next two months are going to be some of the craziest months- actually I am smack in the middle of crazy right now- but I ask you not Read More
