Riverview Wedding by Carla Ten Eyck

Ashley and Ray are the epitome of what I hope all my clients are: energetic, emotive and just head over heels in love. We can talk for hours, and I feel like a part of their family! Maybe photographing Ashley’s sister Jessica’s wedding a few years back broke me into the family a bit…! From Jessica’s wedding, I just was one of them. It was a given that I was going to be there for Ashley and Ray’s big day, and man I was counting down the days! Their families are so warm, so welcoming and I felt so safe Read More

The White Dress in Color – Winter & Spring Book Appearances

Over the past few years I have spent quite a bit of time doing styled shoots with some pretty amazing friends and vendors in the industry. These shoots have taken us all over the world, and honestly it’s part of my job that I just LOVE. I love brainstorming ideas and shoot locations and trouble shooting and thinking on the fly and trying not to throw a tantrum when security denies us access to the Eiffel Tower to shoot but then come up with something even WAY better than I thought I could! I love to DIG DEEP and Read More

Jessica and Ben’s Riverhouse Wedding in Haddam CT

Happy 2014! What better way to start off the year than with a blunt, honest and heartfelt blog post about weddings, love and why I do what I do..! I couldn’t think of better clients to help usher in this new approach to blogging and business than Jessica and Ben. See, I met Jessica after she booked me to photograph her wedding and we just clicked on such a deep level. Not only that, but Ben and I did as well, I swear I could feel the love from them both. They were so open and honest in front of Read More

Melissa and Jeff’s Fall CT Engagement

Melissa and Jeff and I and their super cute doggies Jack and George!!!!! Yes! You heard me correctly, those are indeed my kids names!!…. had the most fun on a brisk fall afternoon a few weeks back doing our engagement session in Shelton at the Historical Society! The air was crisp and sharp, and the light was soft and pretty! There were nooks and crannies to be found, and these two were so natural and comfortable in front of the camera! I can’t wait for their wedding this June at Harkness!!

Like. Please. Melissa, you are killing it!Read More

Wedding at The Inn at Long Shore Westport CT

Erika and Darren were married this past July and had their ceremony and reception at  The Inn at Long Shore in Westport CT. My trusty second shooter Mike Romano was with me for the day, alongside our buddy, Jim Altieri of Vintage Cinema! We always have such a blast working together, and let me tell you that day was no exception!

Erica’s lacy dreamy super beautiful Rivini gown was from my favorite shop The White Dress by the Shore in Clinton CT! I loved her belt!

Dana Bartone and Company was on beauty duty! They looked so Read More

L’Escale Wedding Greenwich CT

Any chance to photograph at L’Escale in Greenwich is always a YES. Roseanne and Iain were married on gorgeous and unseasonably warm October day with a wedding at L’Escale in Greenwich, CT, and they were no exception! It was a hearty YES for us all from the start! Both the bride & groom got ready at the super beautiful Delamar Hotel in Greenwich, CT. I spent the morning with Roseanne and her family, while my trusty second photographer spent some time with Iain and his family. Even though rain – TONS of it!- threatened to fall all day, it never did Read More

#findericlanglois

This is when it gets hard. The dust is settling, and everyone’s life goes on. Posts about coffee, and gardens and family vacations and puppies and fun pictures with your friends flood my feed. It’s life. It does in fact go on. It’s bittersweet to see, coming off the craziest week of my life, where I felt frozen in the worst dream. I am now slowly waking with a tender and wounded heart. Still in shock and disbelief. At times forgetting that Eric is no longer here. Yesterday an alert popped up on my phone MEETING WITH RAW 9:30. I Read More

great gatsby inspired editorial shoot with the white dress by the shore

The Great Gatsby movie opens this weekend, and to much fanfare- more for the fashion or for the actual movie, who knows! There is something so romantic about the fashion and styling of this era, and to be able to do an editorial shoot that was Gatsby-Inspired was like a total no-brainer for me! What’s not to love? Visually I was overwhelmed with deep red lipsticks, feathers, texture, opulence on every level- from the styling of every little detail that our model Liane wore to the rich, beautiful paper Read More

my inspire photo retreat 2013 experience

This February was crazy. For so many reasons! That Blizzard. Man oh man was I bitter about this, but really only for the shoveling part, otherwise it was kinda pretty.
Aside from 36” of snow the next craziest part of my month was the shake up I got while attending the Inspire photography conference in Sturbridge. I am on the planning team, so nothing about this conference should have been much of a surprise, right. Like, I totally knew what we had planned! Because I helped planned much of it!
And yet.
The internal shake up that followed- and Read More

c10 studio ezine issue two

To say I am over the moon right now is the understatement of this fine Thursday! Just in general, yes I am ANNNDD I am so pumped to share our second edition of the C10 Studio Ezine with all of you!!! This has and will continue to be such a labor of love for me. It is something I love to see as a finished designed product, and actually gives me butterflies. Nerdy, I admit! But true.
I feel so honored to work with so many amazing people at each wedding: from my sweet personable and trusting clients to each Read More
