Eyes up, heart open
Photographing Hartford City Hall elopements are very quickly becoming one of my specialties and most favorite ways to work! As a native to the Hart Beat, as we affectionately call it here, I love showing others how beautiful the capital city truly is. The architecture is super diverse with a collection of historic beauties mixed in with newer gems like the Gold Building, shown behind Jill and Mike. One of my favorite pastimes is to track the light and reflections that appear when the sun and the Gold Building play. The shadows and reflections they cast are some of Read More
Paul was the first client I zoomed with when the pandemic first started in the Spring of 2020. We discussed her wedding at The Pavilion at Crystal Lake in Middletown CT on that call, and got completely immersed in the details. We laughed, so hard, chatted about the most random things and just got to know one another in the most comfortable, authentic way. At one point I stopped abruptly because I realized that I had completely forgotten about the crushing reality of the pandemic. All of the fear and uncertainty had been gone for that hour that we Read More
Central Park is one of the most iconic, if not THE most iconic park in the WORLD. It’s never lost on me how lucky I am to live so close to it! When my clients Adarsha and Jeremy wanted to do their winter engagement session at Central Park I was more than excited to take a quick drive into NYC for it!
Engagement sessions aren’t just for save the dates. They are the ultimate comfort test for us all. The majority of my clients admittedly aren’t comfortable being photographed, but they all have one thing in common; they all Read More
Danielle and Jake’s rustic winter wedding at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills in Middletown CT was on a super chilly day. We didn’t let that stop us one bit because Danielle and her ladies came prepared with warm winter wraps so that we could do photos outside! As soon as the ladies showed up in the morning they hit the ground running. Dresses were put on, flowers were oooh’d and ahhh’d over, cheers were made! They were ready for their party and I can’t say that I blamed them one bit. It’s been a super long two years of Read More
A winter Lord Thompson Manor wedding was the PERFECT was to end my 2021 wedding season! I met Jenn and Shawn last Spring as they were in full planning mode for their winter Lord Thompson Manor wedding. There was so much to decide on, and the choices were plentiful. The good thing is, the team at Lord Thompson are so incredibly skilled at throwing a party and not overlooking any detail! After chatting with Jenn and Shawn and hearing how overwhelmed they were feeling, I reassured them. Jackie and her team at the Manor would have it all under Read More
Stephanie and Adam’s winter wedding at Mamaroneck Yacht Club in Mamaroneck NY was a long long LONG time in the making. I’m not just talking about covid delays here, although they had their fair share! They have been together off and on since high school, their lives intertwined in lots of beautiful ways, as you would imagine after so many years. They have a beautiful daughter together, they share a beautiful home together and their families are all quite familiar with one another. Even the priest at the wedding made some ‘it’s about TIME’ jokes during the ceremony! Read More
A Goodwin Hotel wedding in Hartford CT, filled with modern white details, gorgeous florals and the happiest couple is the BEST way to spend a Saturday for me! I LOVE my hometown of Hartford CT so much. The venue options here are really unique and beautiful and tap into the rich history that Hartford has. One of my absolute favorites is The Goodwin Hotel. It closed down in 2008 and I was always so hopeful that it would live to see another wedding or event again. I had my senior prom there and it was MAGICAL! Lucky for us Read More
Taylor and Ben’s autumn wedding at The Fields at Van Wilgen’s Grande Center in North Branford CT could not have been on a more perfect day. I know I say that a lot, and hopefully I am not jinking myself now by saying it again, but GUYS it was so true! Down to the time that it started to get the teeniest bit crisp and people had to grab their soft fleecy blankets that Taylor and Ben provided for them… it was just what fall in New England is all about. We started their wedding day at Taylor’s Read More
I have a favorite season. FALL. The end! In New England, of course! So when Hilary and Jon said they wanted to do their engagement session during the fall at an apple orchard, I was pumped. Now, I have a confession to make… I have never been apple picking! As a CT native this is kind of embarrassing, especially since I love all things to do during the fall in New England! Not only that, in almost 20 years of photographing weddings and engagements I had never done an apple orchard engagement session before. So there we were, in Read More
When I first met with Emily and Alex about their Belmont Country Club wedding in Belmont MA, they had a problem. They were overwhelmed by all of the choices for photographers out there. At the time we met, they had already talked with other photographers and as far as they were concerned, perhaps I was just another one there to overwhelm them! As our zoom meeting progressed I listened to what they were looking for, and realized that sometimes THAT is the problem itself; sometimes you have NO IDEA what you are even looking for when you start out!
