Well. Things are going full steam ahead here at the studio these past few months, and honestly, I couldn’t be happier! I mean, it would be nice if I had a pause button every once in a while- so that I could just stand back and….pause everything for a second. And take it all in. And marvel and how crazy my life is, but also how wonderful. How happy I am to work with such wonderful, honest and true people. But I know that once I un-paused the pause, things would go rushing by even faster…
And so it came to be, that on the ELEVENTH TEN EYCK TUESDAY!! Yes, ELEVENTH!!! I made a decision to open the workshop only to my exclusive studio photographers, and give them all some C 10ike love and attention. I love writing about myself in the third person. Seriously. She does.
But why stop there? Why not make this workshop even BIGGER and involve even MORE COOL VENDORS that I LOVE and that I want to just all wrap into one big burrito hug? Or something? Why not? It’s not like I’m busy or anything, right?

Soooo…. enter:
The New Haven Lawn Club, one of the most beautiful and I feel underrated venues in Connecticut- their coordinators- Christine in particular- are some of my favorite new people to work with
free borat cultural learnings of america for make benefit glorious nation of kazakhstan Datura: A Modern Garden- seriously Tony and Cat are light years ahead of the floral curve here- they are like floral savants, and have no problem pushing the envelope with their creative energy
The White Dress by the Shore – offering the most elegant and beautiful bridal gowns, accessories and bridesmaids dresses- headed by the one and only Beth Chapman, the epitome of style and grace
and the talented Jennie Fresa – one of the sweetest and fun to work with makeup artists around!
So on Tuesday we show up to the New Haven Lawn Club and the Ten Eyck Tuesday circus is in full swing: we have our models all in place on stage, getting all prettied up- dresses on racks, Tony’s in the corner assembling some pieces, the energy is HUMMING!!! This is just my kind of day!
You Stupid Man pspMeet our beautiful models: some of you may recognize the talented and lovely Miss Candice from Jubilee Events
on the left; my beautiful new client Emily who’s wedding we are photographing this winter; and the at home in front of the camera, Miss Mandi!! All of our ladies did such an amazing job and really put themselves out there for us! Thank you all so much!
One of the main things we were going over was how to shoot for our vendors that we work with at weddings. Having a strong network of other vendors who respect your work is paramount to running a successful business. So what do you do to get that? GIVE BACK! Make sure you photograph the venue in a way that highlights the venue: get good hair and makeup shots, and showcase the dress and accessories- and the flowers!! Can’t forget those! Every vendor appreciates a photographer who provides solid images that really highlight their work.
This venue is really stunning. The mirror is incredible, and the light in the room is just crazy. We decided to start with a focus on bridesmaids dresses, with just a pop of color on the mantle and floor care of Tony.
I really was digging the sconces on either side of the mantle, and decided to hone in on that spot a bit for this shot. Can you BELIEVE this floral shawl?? Yes, it is made entirely of flowers!!! DATURA!!
Here’s an overview of what was going on…. No pressure Mandi! We had Dominique kicking some light back in her face with the reflector while Katie takes her shot. Ashley and Graham Scobey, and ‘Eazy E’ Erik Maziarz wait patiently for their turn at bat
Emily had the headpiece hairstyle going on! I love its simplicity, yet its sophisticated little business in the back just makes it for me. All headpieces – except the floral headband!!!! DATURA!!!!- courtesy of The White Dress by the Shore. Who knew you had so many headpiece options!?
All courtesy of Datura! How awesome and creative are these??
I love the birdcage, long bridesmaids combo here
Yes, it IS a purse made of foliage and flowers!! DATURA!!
These colors all together just make me feel GOOD!
Beth just couldn’t help but bring one teeny little wedding dress…….! And I was ALL over it!!
Couldn’t decide which I liked best
Whatever dude!! Tony whipped up a floral PARASOL. Because he could!
Everyone should consider a bird cage veil. Everyone. Even the groom.
I just love the contrast of vintage dress and modern flowers here!
Seriously. I want to wear this headpiece, like every day! And check out the detail on this dress?! Really? I will get the designer’s name added tomorrow, I have to ask Beth again, my brain was estoy MUY occupado with WAY too many details and I totally let it slip my mind!!
What a spectacular day of shooting we had all in all, I’d say!!
Make sure to check my awesome photography team: (poor Mike had to work and couldn’t make it!)
and Ashley Scobey’s blogs for more shots from the day!!
