New Class Added for 2010: The Posing Workshop
Learn how to get out of your posing rut and maximize your variety of images without making your clients feel like they are posing for a Sears Catalog! Both couples and one person posing styles; how to achieve a natural feel even though your clients may need direction and a little help!
How to get the most out of your clients from what to wear and what to bring to the shoot to where to go. Stop going to the park for your shoots! (But if you have to go I will show you how to work it!) How do you get your clients excited about new places – get them to see and trust your vision.
Come see what all of the excitement is about with a full day of hands on learning with Connecticut’s very own award winning photographer Carla Ten Eyck at her studio in Hartford, CT.
Carla brings her years of shooting experience, passion for her craft and love of teaching to each class. Don’t come if you plan on sitting back and only listening, Carla will engage and challenge you to see things in a fresh, new way!

The Back to Basics Class
Get back in touch with what makes a good image in the first place, regardless of where and who you shoot
Not booking uber high end weddings and photographing crazy models? NEITHER AM I! Beauty is everywhere, learn how to see it and how it will translate into making you a better photographer
Truly understand exposure and the relationship between ISO, aperture and shutter speed and how it affects your image
Go out and shoot on-location with Carla and subjects for the day
Learn to get it right, in camera and get what you want from your clients- no relying on fixing it in post
Make the most of your locations and lighting situations with creative soultions to common shooting problems
Really understand your gear and what it can do for you
Then enjoy a home cooked lunch by Carla (she’s a really good cook!), upload your images and work on your post production
The class ends with an interactive critique of your images on what worked, what didn’t and how to make it better the next time you are at a shoot!
Lighting Made Simple Class – a little more advanced
Learn how to utilize ambient available light – during the day or at night
Flash, video light and off camera remote light – what’s all the fuss about? Carla will demystify it and teach you how to make it work for you
After our shoot we will return to Carla’s studio and critique what we shot with a hot meal prepared by Carla herself!
if you are a beginner Carla recommends you take the Back to Basics class first
