baby evie day one session
As many of you know, my incredible teammates Graham and Ashley Scobey were pregnant, for what seemed like forever. Last week they welcomed their precious baby daughter Evelyn Grey Scobey, or Evie into the world and I was honored to be there and document part of her second day in the world.
I walked in to this: Graham, and Ashley’s parents watching their children watch their little daughter get her little heel stuck for tests. I remember so clearly what that felt like to watch your little baby get poked and prodded- it was agony, and I cried every time. So there I was, what I felt like the newest parent to Graham and Ashley in the hallway- as I joined the real parents. And so we watched. I was glad for the moment to collect myself, and watch Graham and Ashley in action.
See, they are like family now. They are two of the sweetest, most genuine and wonderful people I have met in a long time. To know that they are here, experiencing this crazy thing called parenthood while their family is far away awakens the mama bear in me. Oh yeah.
The look on their faces says it all: I may be smiling but if you hurt my little girl I WILL get you . OK, maybe that’s what’s in my head. See? Mama bear.
She was giving me a shout out as Graham wheeled her to her room. See she loves me already
Poor Graham is going to fall victim to the always-having-awesome-pictures-of-his-family-with-the-kids-but none-of-him-with-the-kids syndrome. But maybe not… Ashley is developing quite the eye, and I just know that Evie is gonna help her along nicely! How sweet is our little Graham and his little daughter???

Watching Ashley with her new little girl just brought me back down memory lane…. it was a sweet trip, and it was even sweeter watching her bond
Ashley is seriously one of the wittiest people I know. I could listen to that girl prattle on all day with her witty chatter, the stuff that she was saying to Evie had me cracking up
