Yes, Jay Leno is secretly Jerome Braga from Studio 1923!!!!

Now before you get your skirts in a twist, please know that everyone that I post on here is my friend- well, Jay Leno is not my friend but not because he wouldn’t love me!!!

Jerome Braga is just one of those guys in my profession who I have admired for some time- so after years of stalking each other from afar we have became good friends- he is someone who’s company I just adore, and who’s gear I will borrow in a hot second!

winter hartford engagement session

Right before the holiday craziness I had one of my favorite 2010 couples come to me for a chilly but FUN engagement session in one of my very favorite places to shoot…. HARTFORD!! I love my Hartford!! Not too big, not too small, it’s juuuuust right!

So when my clients said they wanted to come here I was all  for it! I brought them to some of my tried and true favorite spots with some new ones thrown in for spice!

First of all, can we all agree on how adorable and photogenic my girl is!!!

They laughed so easily together… it made my job that much easier!

It’s almost like I have my internal GPS set to where the sun sets in specific parts of downtown Hartford, and I gotta say I love that!

For real?

I may have told them something along the lines of ‘you may feel silly, but you will certainly not look silly…’ Anything to make people laugh and feel comfortable!!

Like this here!! I love them both in this shot!

I know I know, one of my favorite walls in Hartford! Don’t hate because I sweat this place, it’s cool!

I feel like i am repeating myself again with how much I love how comfortable and happy and photogenic they are!! But come ON!!

See what I’m saying?

So while we were in downtown Hartford we happened a forest….well not really! But it certainly looks like it, right??

More graphic backgrounds!

I’m not saying anyone got hurt here…… but maybe someone was a little sore? I’m just saying.

And we HAD to hit up Constitution Plaza!!

With no assistant for this shoot it was certainly challenging but I had fun with it!!

I love this next series here

I feel like he looks like he’s from 1950 and I am a fan!

Thank you guys SOOOOOO much for making the trek to me, I had SO much fun with you both and I cannot WAIT for your wedding!!

Have a Happy and Safe New Year!!

XXOO

amy and jeffrey wedding at the inn at longshore

WARNING:  This blog has been hijacked!

That’s right folks.  I have the secret URL, I have the username, I have the password and I’m IN.  With this much control I could really do some damage – maybe post an embarrassing photo or two – but I will use my better judgment.  :-)   I’m actually here to make my first official post on Carla’s blog as a studio photographer, and I could not be more excited.  It’s a privilege to be part of such a talented team of creative people, and especially to be working for someone whose work I have admired for so long.

Last month I was honored to shoot my first wedding for the studio.  In the face of cold temperatures and wind driven rain, I had two of the most enthusiastic and composed clients.  A classic nor’easter was no match for Amy and Jeffrey.  With umbrellas, rain boots, a “first look” in a parking garage and even a rainbow, this wedding had ‘awesome’ written all over it.  Congratulations Amy and Jeffrey, and thank you for making my first Carla Ten Eyck wedding a blast!

Special thanks to the super talented Jim Altieri for shooting with me.  Check out some of his great shots below and be sure to visit his blog.

Jim’s photo below:

I love this shot of Amy’s dad looking on.

And then a rainbow!

These next few shots of the guys are all from Jim.  He stepped out for a few minutes to photograph them getting ready and came back with some great stuff.

After Amy and Jeff’s first look we headed to Cranbury Park in Norwalk for some more photos.

I love this candid that Jim grabbed.  Did I mention it was windy?

These guys were real troopers!

A little bit of video light . . .

. . . and a little bit of off-camera flash.

And finally to the Inn at Longshore.
