melissa and shaun wedding at the mystic ct marriott

Before I sign off the blog for the Thanksgiving Holiday until next week (our studio is closed for the rest of the week until Monday November 30th) I wanted to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday from my family to yours!

Our last wedding in November was at the Mystic Marriott with our clients Shaun and Melissa- it was a blustery, chilly autumn day in New England but we managed to have a wonderful day! Melissa was the best sport- she gets kudos because she was in a strapless dress and didn’t care how cold it got, she just knew that it would be worth it! Well sister, thanks for making it so easy to work with you and not complaining even one little time about the cold!!

Enter, her J Crew shoes…..

and hair and makeup a la Dana Bartone & Co. – our favorite beauty experts to work with!! Dana and Catie are the best team and we love them!!

Melissa was so happy with her hair and makeup, as she should be, she looked fabulous!!

Her first real look at herself

Melissa’s gorgeous gown was from our other favorite vendor, The White Dress by the Shore and it was exquisite

Melissa waits patiently while her sister and Mother button her up

There are the buttons!

Melissa’s Father was so easy to be around and just loved his daughter to pieces

Melissa was so beautiful!!

Their ceremony was in Old Lyme in a light filled church

One of my favorite moments

I love this!!!

Melissa and the boys….. well, and her main boy of course!

We got a beautiful sunset to work with- which was awesome since it was so chilly and windy!

But then we DID have Melissa’s long flow-y veil to work with!!!

100% pure awesome wind powered image

there were so many from this series that I love sorry but I just couldn’t narrow it down!!

The light here? The veil? Them?

How handsome is Shaun!

Again, I couldn’t narrow it down!

More favorites!!

Then we got closer to the water…. and the wind!

The sun warmed them a bit- this could have been taken in June for all we know, right?

More wind, more sunset, more awesome clients!!

Their first dance as husband and wife

One of my favorite things to catch is the huge variety of facial expressions during the toasts and Melissa didn’t let me down!!

Carmine!!!! I love the best men

Melissa and Shaun thanks for being so awesome to work with, I swear I sound like a broken record when I say this but it’s true, we have the BEST clients!!!

Have a wonderful Holiday!

XO

marissa and michael wedding at the society room hartford ct

In October I was able to come full circle with the Ford Family- clients of mine that have felt more like family from the day I met them a few years ago when I photographed Alicia and Matt’s wedding at St. Clement’s Castle in 2007. It was there that I met Marissa, Alicia’s younger sister and her beau for the wedding, Michael Pratt. To say we all fell in love with this guy for Marissa was the understatement of the YEAR! So of course their wedding at The Society Room in Hartford was nothing but beautiful, vintage inspired fun!!

these guys were also featured on Style Me Pretty- check out their post here

Her are some of her beautiful wedding details: Her cute little Kate Spade shoes were just my favorite!

Her Mom Nancy does the finishing touches

We popped across the street from her parent’s house to take some pictures, thanks neighbors!!

Marissa is so vintage glam fabulous!!!

One of my faves from the day by far!

Marissa and her ladies

While wandering around the church, I saw this stage, right? And so…..

Their church is absolutely beautiful!!!

Michael Pratt looks pretty happy about it all

Marissa is a coach at the Gymnastics Training Center in Simsbury, and her kids all came to the ceremony to wish them well!

See what I’m saying about those little Kate Spade shoes? Reminds me of ribbon candy

And Hartford City hall for pictures is a natural and wonderful choice!! Stop and smell those flowers Michael Pratt!!!

Once I do something enough I am ready to change it up, and lighting up City Hall was on the list!! I love these next two shots!

The staircase is always a must

Mr. Mike Romano shows his take

Another one of my favorites, the elevator at City Hall! And grooms holding the bouquet!

Now these next few kill me!

When picking my shots for the blog I was picking away, all proud of myself for how great these dance shots came out! And then? I realized they were Katie’s, not mine! hah! Katie Slater does Carla Ten Eyck better than Carla Ten Eyck does Carla Ten Eyck!

Come again?

Marissa changed it up for the reception with a little veil swap

Again with that Katie Slater! Love her!

And this nice little gem? All Mike Romano, how beautiful and different is this shot?? I. LOOOOOVE it! Go Mike!

Marissa and Michael Pratt, congrats on an awesome wedding!!!

rob and jen wedding at the inn at longshore westport ct

During one of the most beautiful weeks in October I had a wedding coming up that I was pretty pumped for- so I was really excited to think that my clients would have a beautiful wedding day, seeing as the week was so nice and all. Well, it sure is funny how things work out! They got the rainiest day ever for their wedding at the Inn at Longshore! No matter! We soldiered on and had a few tricks up our sleeves that proved to really make our pictures that much more fun! Here’s to an adventurous couple!!

At her parents house getting ready for the wedding, Jen takes a peek outside to check on the weather

An awesome shot by Miss Katie Slater of Jen right before she walks down the aisle

Now, Mike, my regular second shooter was the best man in the wedding. He added such a fun element to the day, having him on the other side for the day! Here Mike lends his support to his best friend Rob as Jen makes her way down the aisle

Rob is overwhelmed with emotion as he watches his future wife walk to him

And it’s a WRAP!! I loved how passionate their first kiss was!

One of my faves, them leaving the church

Mike was acting like Max his dog by trying to eat the bubbles. I think he was hungry

My girl was prepared!!!

A rare sneak peek into boy land

Sara from Growing Tree The Bodyguard video joined our team for the day, we love having her with us! She grabbed these two details

So one of Jen’s bridesmaids is a teacher and got access to the school for us!!! How amazing is she?? I had a field day with this, since Jen is a teacher herself this really fit for them

love love love

I had some fun with Mike and Rob

Then we slipped around back to the beach in Stamford and got some shots in between the rain. The light was so beautiful and so was Jen!!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Class Action trailer

Dont Say a Word

These two are so much fun to photograph

The blue really made a nice backdrop for us

I gotta highlight the shoes!

Big Mommas House ipod

Mike and Rob share a tender moment

I will not tell you all what happened right as I was taking this picture. But they all know what or WHO they were laughing at here! Right Mike

Rob is by far one of my favorite grooms to photograph…. he could model for me anytime he likes!

Back to trick up our sleeve number three! We still had some time to shoot and of course it started to rain! But again, we were not worried. I looked at this as a great time to experiment and of course they were game!

You gotta highlight the weather, right?

download The Little Princess dvd

Love this shot of them!

and this

ooooohhhh booooyyyy…..

love love love!!! Jen is so much fun to play with, she loves photography so she made my job even more fun!!

it was crazy windy out!!

Wedding cupcakes from Sugarbelle!!

Jane Doe dvd

This was how Mike made his entrance! What did I tell you, he was FUN to shoot and agile like a big ballerina

Katie got this hilarious shot of one of the groomsmen making his entrance, and almost got knocked out! That girl is prone to getting bonked by someone at almost every wedding but what a great shot and worth the concussion!

Their first dance

Hair psp

Care Bears: Journey to Joke-a-Lot dvdrip

Rob and his Dad have a wonderful relationship, it was really fun to see

Mike’s toast to Rob and Jen

Proof positive that Mike dances AND sings!! Check out how shocked Rob is! Trust me, we both were!! I’m kinda glad I could not hear him sing along to Journey though, that would have been too much!

This guy kept feeding my hunger for pictures with lifting Rob and Jen up! Way to get a workout in at a wedding dude! Check out Jen’s face!

Rob and his Dad again, see what I mean!!! I love it

The night ender…… what a party it was!!!

Sublime hd

Check out my team, even though Mike was technically off the clock!

We will end with some photo booth fun!!

Rob and Jen, congratulations on your wedding and here’s to a happy life together!!

Thanks for being so incredible!!
