daniela and pacific wedding at the owenego in branford

Our final wedding before my vacation (and then I will stop talking about it, I swear) was with the energizing Daniela and Pacific in Branford at the Owenego Inn. These two brought such very different worlds together for one beautiful and sweet celebration. Daniela is from Germany and was a nanny for a few years in CT so she had her host family and her family from Germany along with Pacific’s family. They were all such a positive and  sweet bunch of people and Mike and I had a great day of shooting! Here are some of our favorites from the day…

Here Daniela’s sister and her bridesmaid are chatting before the ceremony

Gigantic full movie

Her bridesmaids were so cute while she put on her dress they cheered her on

Her Mom was so psyched when she saw Daniela all dressed

Love that the church was on Church Street

Daniela’s energy was non stop positive all day long

Daniela walking down the aisle was very emotional. Her father passed away and so she had her host father walk her.

Mike shot this awesome  picture with the Wedding Album for Organ book. Come on Mr. Romano!!!

Love this little moment between the ring bearer and Pacific during the hand off

At the end of the ceremony their Minister had everyone put their hands on the person in front of them during the final prayer. What a powerful way to end a ceremony!

Supergirl ipod

I love this one of the bridal party during the prayer

Their Church- it was the Congregational church in Guilford- was so freaking pretty!!!

The kayaks also provided a nice beachy boaty backdrop

While we were shooting we set her flowers down and I noticed this tiny little face peering back up at me…. I believe it is her Father

I am a sucker for the hands on the waist shot!

This rickety little crazy jetty thing was awesome! We passed it at our own risk

More hands!

These guys were so natural together

and so quick with a laugh!!

Despite the crazy wind we had a blast

Mike spent time with the ladies….

Mike caught all of the colors so nicely in this shot

Robin Dini — you got the set up girl! I've done the Guilford Congregational + Owenego a few times and it always is classic beachy New England. Beautifully captured.   ( July 30, 2009 @ 5:17 pm )

Eileen Broderick — These were not only beautiful but very touching. Love the emotion in many of these. And Daniela has a wonderful smile! Love the "pass at your own risk" shot. Classic Carla.   ( August 6, 2009 @ 1:06 pm )

georgie and the sunflowers

….AKA Carla is in heaven

I look forward to visiting the Buttonwood Farm in Griswold CT every year now for their amazing display of sunflowers, like SO much. I even have it as a repeat event in my ical. Nerdy, I’ll give you that. But soooooo worth the nerd factor to not miss this simply breathtaking event!!

This year was almost a bust for me, and I was a sad mamma-jamma. The week the fields were supposed to be in their height was when I was away in Virginia….. however, I decided to give it a go anyway and am I glad I did! After spending the last part of my vacation with my inlaws at the beach, Georgie and I took a trip over on a weird, foggy day.

Now, fog is my FAVORITE weather, if it even counts as weather. Fay-vor-ite! Like my favorite. Not sure if I am clear on that one. I love it. Like, ALOT.

The Rock movie

So while it was foggy at the beach what would the odds be that it would be foggy at the fields? Right?

Well.

I said ‘please’ AND ‘thank you’

Just when you think that it’s not humanly possible to love another human being more, you’re like- SERIOUSLY? And my heart feels like it’s going to explode. Look at that little face!

I can admit that I am living vicariously through my kids- they are so much cuter than I could ever have dreamt of being!

pure bliss

Being able to spend a late afternoon with my daughter, doing something that I love SO much, in a setting like this was the equivalent to one of my favorite days ever in my life.

What else can I say about that???

harris and soulaf's trash the dress coney island shoot

Right before my vacation Mike and I made the trip to a place I have always wanted to visit- Coney Island! We had the most beautiful day to shoot- deep blue skies, and warm sunlight with little to no humidity. And Harris and Soulaf were  all over it! Once again, the one and only Tony from Datura rocked with his awesome flower makin’ self!! Here are some of my favorites from the day…

Bright sun always makes for some fun shadow opportunities

Coney Island is the best- it has so many awesome carnival-ish billboardy hoo has, like the Sword Swallower and Spider Girl- I could have easily spent all day here. I must go back!!!

I became slightly obsessed with the ferris wheel

Harris and Soulaf attracted quite a crowd!

Mike and I went to the car to unload some gear and when we came back we found this other photog having some fun!

Fair food stands are the gold standard at Coney Island… and make great backdrops!

Same thing with the ticket booths!!

So many lights….

I think they are tall enough to ride this, right?

The guy running the track derby totally didn’t want to be in the picture….sorry dude, but you make it so much better!!

Dark and dreamy

love this one, and Soulaf’s expression is perfect!

So look who we ran into???!!!! None other than Robert Norman, my good buddy!!

One of my favorites!
